HIMYM: The Magician's Code

Lots of exciting things happened on tonight's 'How I Met Your Mother'. Some of them were very expected, and at least one of them was a little less expected. If you haven't seen the episode yet, don't read what follows, because it has massive spoilers.

1) Expected: Marshall and Barney were still stuck in Atlantic City, and Marshall was still completely trashed.

2) Unexpected: Robin has delivered calves before, and has decided this means she can easily deliver a baby.

3) Expected: Ted was way too emotionally invested in the birth of the baby. He made a "labor announcement" video that had photos of Lily, Marshall, and himself. Which he then emailed to everyone he could think of.

4) Expected: Barney came up with ridiculous and hilarious plans in an attempt to ensure that Marshall would be there for his son's birth.

5) Expected: Marshall made it in the nick of time. They named the baby after his deceased father, Marvin. With a middle name courtesy of Barney (Waitforit...no really).

6) Unexpected/Expected: Barney travels with a magic trick. And it was his fancy was of proposing to Quinn.

7) Unexpected: Quinn agreed to quit her stripper job.

8) Expected: Marshall and Lily loved the baby, but parenthood is overwhelming them.

9) Unexpected/Expected: The new Barney has realized people have feelings, and asked Robin if she was okay with the engagement.

10) Expected: Robin was devastated that Barney got engaged to Quinn, but told him she was happy.

11) Expected: Victoria left her German fiance at the altar, and ran off with Ted.

12) Unexpected/Expected: Robin and Barney (probably) get engaged/may get married in the future.*

 About "the" Wedding
*We again saw a scene from a future wedding. Presumably (thought not definitively) the wedding that we saw part of during last season's finale. Barney was the groom, and the bride was Robin. Meaning: ultimately Robin and Barney will get engaged, and will plan a wedding. But 'HIMYM' can be tricky, and after years of being led on I try not to believe in anything they hint at. Remember that scene from the end of last season where Barney turns to Ted and says, "Am I making the right decision?". That makes me a little concerned that he may not actually marry Robin, even if they do get engaged and plan a wedding. The show creators seem to believe that people call off their weddings right and left (Ted and Stella, Klaus and Victoria, Marshall and Lily). I hope not, because I want Robin and Barney to end up together. Thoughts?
